Waiting to Collect

Waiting too long can cost you everything.

By the time you “give them one more chance,” they’ve drained the bank account, moved assets, and signed new contracts behind your back. I wrote this because too many operators and service companies think waiting shows strength. But in commercial and oilfield disputes, it can be fatal.

Here’s how we decide when to file and when to fight:

Don’t delay.

Review liens.

Track invoices.

Preserve documents.

Calculate the downside.

Know your exposure.

Gauge their weakness.

Watch for asset shifts.

Decide if silence helps them.

Strike when delay creates permanent damage to your rights.

Litigation isn’t always the answer.

But it’s sometimes the only move left.
